Sunday Chats - 1

Hi All! This is a no recipe post, sorry about that, but I have been thinking I should chat a bit with you once in a while....and so here I am.

I took a small break from blogging to visit my parents at Trivandrum and enjoyed every bit of my time spent there.....the whole week just breezed by.

Let me introduce my niece Athena, she is one of the three nieces I have and we sneaked in some "ice cream time". I had so much fun "toy" shopping with her......I loved her expressions when she got her ice cream and thought I will share with you...a'int she cute!!

These Pics were taken from my phone, and hence the pics are not at their best. Kids and ice cream....are pure delight to watch.

Being with your parents makes you lazy to the core, at least I am! I just lazed around played with my nephews and nieces and had lots of fun with my sis-in-laws....I even sneaked out amma for a movie.

Do I have mention the food I had, mom's food always make you crave for more, even this simple Kerala Style Fish Fry which I make often at home....tasted sooooo good!

I got introduced to Calvin and Hobbs by my cousin, Thomas; if you still haven't try reading from here  Its a comic strip which is now a stress buster for me.

Oh! BTW, I am still trying to get a hang of google plus, if you hang out there, please feel free to add me to your circles! (thank you)

I have tons of mails and messages to be looked into, I promise I will get back to each one of your queries ASAP.

One of my reader/friend sent me this video link through Facebook on how to separate egg yolks, check out the fun video .

Lastly, my amma! Gosh! I miss her already :(
If you haven't talked to your mom for sometime, pick up the phone and talk now, I promise her voice has some magic!

Pidiyum Kozhiyum Recipe - How To Make Kerala Style Kozhi Pidi - Kerala Recipes

Pidiyum kozhiyum or kottayam style pidi is a traditional knanaya cuisine ; these rice dumpling have a thick gravy like sauce, unlike the dry versions of Malabar kakka roti or kozhi pidi. Knanaya style pidi is served with varutharacha kozhi curry. Traditionally, pidi is associated with baby shower ie when the daughter-in-law is sent to her parents house for delivery, it is customary for the mother-in-law to make kozhi pidi and we knanaya people still follow these traditions. My main aim is to preserve this recipe; so that the future generations can enjoy this wholesome dish. Pidi is rice dumplings which is simmered in water along with shallots, garlic, curry leaves, and coriander seeds; but I have used coriander powder instead to make the whole process easy. Amma mentioned that if using coriander seeds then; the water used to mix the rice flour should be sieved and that using fresh roasted coriander powder saves time. I have made a video recipe and I hope this you help
