Skinny Tandoori Chicken Fajita (Wraps)...step by step.

Tandoori chicken wraps are the skinnier (Indian) version of "Fajita", and my daughter's favorite. In the last post I mentioned that my daughter is having study holidays and that means she is hungry every 15 min......I made this tandoori wraps for her as a treat....since she is becoming a bit calorie conscious, I made this skinny for her.

Tandoori chicken is shredded and mixed with vegetables and spices and wraped with Whole wheat roti/flatbread.....with no cheese and just 1 tbsp of oil....and drizzled with homemade yogurt....an Indianised Fajita inspired wrap.

I am using only 1 tbsp of oil to make it skinny .....plus this is cheese free.

So easy and simple if you have left over or store-bought tandoori chicken pieces ( pls go to my tandoori chicken post if you have the time to make one).

Easy way to make a meal from left overs.

An easy lunch box meal for kids and office goers .....An easy hazzle-free meal on the go.

Author: Nisa Homey.
Serves: One.(makes two wraps)

To make this wrap, I used store-bought tandoori chicken left overs.
Ingredients:
Flatbread/Roti: 2.
Tandoori Chicken: One piece, shredded (boneless).
Onion: 1 medium, sliced.
Tomato: 1/2 of one medium, sliced.
Capsicum: 1/4 of one medium, sliced.
Kashmiri Chilly Powder: 1/2 tsp.
Pepper Powder: 1/2 tsp.
Turmeric Powder: A fat pinch.
Kasuri Methi: 1 tsp.
Coriander leaves: 1 sprig chopped.
Oil: 1 tsp.
Salt to taste.
Yogurt: 2 tsp.

Method:
In a pan, heat oil and on high flame and put in the sliced onion, sliced tomatoes and stir fry for 2 minutes. Simmer the fire and add in the sliced capsicum.

Stir for a minute or two or until the tomatoes get a little mushy.

Then add in the chilly powder, pepper powder, turmeric, and salt.

Give it a nice stir and add in the kasuri methi..this give that subtle desi flavor...it is best to rub kasuri methi with your fingers to release the flavor.

And now the best part...add in the shredded tandoori chicken....mix well.

Switch off fire and add in the chopped coriander leaves....stir well.

Heat one flatbread/roti on a tawa and put half of the filling inside and drizzle a tsp of yogurt on top. Roll from one side and stick a tooth pick in the middle if needed. You can make two wraps with this filling.

# I did not oil the roti while heating to make it skinny; you can oil it on both sides if you are not diet conscious;  a tbsp of ghee on the roti will defiantly make it a fuller meal.
#If you are packing it for lunch, it is best to wrap in a foil paper.

That's it.... your Indianised fajita or skinny tandoori chicken wraps are ready.

Enjoy your wraps with yogurt as a side dip.

turmeric tea mix - diy turmeric mix to make turmeric tea or golden milk. turmeric tea for weight loss, for a flat belly, stomach bloating, and for overall health. this homemade mix is an excellent fat burner and also will boost immunity. have this on empty stomach in the morning for best results. the active ingredient in turmeric known as curcumin has powerful anti inflammatory effects and is a strong anti oxidant. curcumin is not easily absorbed by the body and that is the reason inspite of us Indians having lots of turmeric in our diet, do not get its full benefits. black pepper is the one natural ingredient that helps the curcumin to be absorbed into the body by around 2000%, wow! So, do not skip black pepper when taking turmeric. All the ingredients I used in this homemade turmeric tea mix are locally acquired and organic. curcumin/turmeric is fat soluble so it is also a good option to have a warm cup after a heavy meal. studies shows that turmeric can prevent cancer, h

Pidiyum Kozhiyum Recipe - How To Make Kerala Style Kozhi Pidi - Kerala Recipes

Pidiyum kozhiyum or kottayam style pidi is a traditional knanaya cuisine ; these rice dumpling have a thick gravy like sauce, unlike the dry versions of Malabar kakka roti or kozhi pidi. Knanaya style pidi is served with varutharacha kozhi curry. Traditionally, pidi is associated with baby shower ie when the daughter-in-law is sent to her parents house for delivery, it is customary for the mother-in-law to make kozhi pidi and we knanaya people still follow these traditions. My main aim is to preserve this recipe; so that the future generations can enjoy this wholesome dish. Pidi is rice dumplings which is simmered in water along with shallots, garlic, curry leaves, and coriander seeds; but I have used coriander powder instead to make the whole process easy. Amma mentioned that if using coriander seeds then; the water used to mix the rice flour should be sieved and that using fresh roasted coriander powder saves time. I have made a video recipe and I hope this you help
