Healthy Avocado Smoothie Recipe - Vegan Avocado Shake

vegan avocado smoothie
Avocado shake recipe, learn to make healthy avocado - pineapple smoothie with some super foods like tulsi (holy basil) and flaxseeds for your breakfast and it sure will keep you fuller for long and help to lose weight fast.

I like to make my breakfast smoothie packed with a variety of super foods. I like to add not only flaxseeds but turmeric, tulsi (holy basil), mint leaves, and fresh and frozen fruits. To get in some healthy greens in this smoothie, I used my garden fresh tulsi leaves and mint leaves as when it comes to greens I go strictly on the organic mode.

Pineapples and avocados are in season and I like to use seasonal fruits and veggies. Shakes with tulsi will give you the much needed antioxidants and if you are interested to know some of the health benefits of tulsi pls check the video below.

Coming to flax seeds, they are my go-to proteins for my smoothies and shakes, they are packed with omega 3 fatty acids and they make you feel fuller for long and a great addition to power up breakfast; and if by any chance you want to shed that extra pound then its high time you stock them up. If you are interested you can check the video on health benefits of flax seeds.

Turmeric: The ingredient which I am always addicted to be it in curries or smoothies or home remedies or face packs, turmeric, oh! I love thee!
I am sharing a video on the health benefits of turmeric.

Now coming back to the recipe; this smoothie is power packed with nutrients and its a must have breakfast recipe. I used frozen pineapple as it will help the smoothie get a creamy texture but thats entirely my personal preference.

Avocado is a fruit which contains more potassium than bananas and is high in heart healthy monounsaturated fatty acids, they are loaded with fiber and keeps you fuller and satiated for long.

Ingredients:
Half avocado
3 dates
1 handful of fresh mint leaves
4 sprigs of tulsi/holy basil leaves
1 cup frozen pineapple
1/3 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 cup coconut water
1 tbsp flax seeds
Method:
Add all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
Garnish with a sprig of mint leaves and serve.

Pidiyum kozhiyum or kottayam style pidi is a traditional knanaya cuisine ; these rice dumpling have a thick gravy like sauce, unlike the dry versions of Malabar kakka roti or kozhi pidi. Knanaya style pidi is served with varutharacha kozhi curry. Traditionally, pidi is associated with baby shower ie when the daughter-in-law is sent to her parents house for delivery, it is customary for the mother-in-law to make kozhi pidi and we knanaya people still follow these traditions. My main aim is to preserve this recipe; so that the future generations can enjoy this wholesome dish. Pidi is rice dumplings which is simmered in water along with shallots, garlic, curry leaves, and coriander seeds; but I have used coriander powder instead to make the whole process easy. Amma mentioned that if using coriander seeds then; the water used to mix the rice flour should be sieved and that using fresh roasted coriander powder saves time. I have made a video recipe and I hope this you help
